Spring Into Style : Your Closet Essentials for Spring 2016
Transition into spring with style...
I don't know about you... But as the weather heats up so does my social life. I live in an area of the U.S. where it can just get down right nasty during the winter! So, as you can imagine, cocktails with the girls and trying out that new restaurant slip to the bottom of my priority list. But, with Spring arriving and Summer peeking around the corner, that's all changing. And, let's face it... A busier social life means that you'll probably want to look on point. It also means you'll probably have less time to do it in, as well.
Such a bummer... Fortunately, I've hatched a list of style staples for the season! 7 easy pieces that will help to build the foundation of your Spring 2016 Wardrobe. Each piece can be worn a variety of ways and mixed and matched with pieces already in your closet for tons of looks that will carry you from day to night and function to function.
1. Destined For Denim
Denim will never go out of style. This cotton classic will always be in fashion because of it's versatility. With all of the endless options to choose from- skinny, flared, boot cut, boyfriend, girlfriend, high waist, low rider- there's a flattering pair for everyone. Try the She's Got Flare Jeans for a trendy update on this classic.
2. Straight To The Top
You should always have a basic top that can be easily layered and mixed with a variety of bottoms for endless styling options. Something in a clean, flattering cut. Want something trendy that you can wear for seasons to come? try a bodysuit in universal colors like black, grey, and white with one in a shade flattering to your skin tone. Want something more classic? Loose tops, such as trapeze and draped options, are a perfect addition to any wardrobe. Wear with leggings and flats for casual outings and take things up a notch with trusty skinny jeans, a slinky pencil skirt, or leather skinnies and finish with killer heels. Try the Willow Draped Cross Over Top
3.Dress For Success
Every girl needs at least one dress that they can wear over and over again. My personal choice is a strapless bodycon dress that's mid length with a high neck. But, the point is... Choose one that makes YOU feel like a million bucks! Stick with solid colors...Choose a length and neckline appropriate for work... And, pick a silhouette that looks makes your bod look like walking perfection. Throw on tights, a blazer, and pumps for the office. Layer a light-weight sweater over with flats of your choice, a stylish tote, and a show stopping necklace for a sleek casual look. Oh, and just toss on a sleek leather jacket, open toed heels, and a bold lip for a memorable night look. The Ruby Celebrity Inspired Cross over Back Dress is a great option!
4. Time to Get Shady
Don't underestimate the power of a great pair of shades a.k.a sunglasses. There's something about this wonder accessory that takes any outfit to the next level. Hide your dark circles from the night before on days you just don't feel like wearing make up and still look completely fabulous. Plus, there are so many options for every face in every price range. What's not to love??? I personally love a good aviator like these Metallic Aviator Sunglasses - The style looks great on every face shape!
5. The Crown Jewels
Every one should have some basic jewelry that an go with every outfit. Whether it's costume or the real deal is up to you. And, hey... All you ladies rockin' the costume jewelry... Have no shame in your game! There are some stunning pieces out there. You're the ony who'll know if it's real or not at the end of the day. Point is, whatever the budget, everyone should have a few essential pieces: A great cocktail ring, a fab bangle, and 3 necklaces in varying lengths( short, medium long) that can be worn together or alone.
6. Haul It All
A fabulous carry all is essential. One bag for day and one for night. The day bag should always be bigger than the night bag. I'm really feeling the whole structured tote trend. But, feel free to choose what works for you. As for night, a great clutch or a sweet cross body will always work.
7. Walk Tall
Say what you will, but shoes make or break an outfit. They can be the exclamation point pushing a fab ensemble over the top or the one thing that brings all hopes of being noteworthy to a complete halt. So... Invest in a good pair ladies. I think every lady should have office appropriate pumps, killer heels, a smart flat, and one fun statement shoe of your choice.
Until next time...
